So I kind of stopped doing monthly favourites purely because I was finding it so hard to even find five new things that I have been loving each month. I still want to share with you what I’ve been loving recently though so I think I’m going to do a ‘What I’ve been loving lately’. A post every couple of months to share my recent loves!
This may come as a shock to those of you who know that I tend to stay away from any lipstick that isn’t a nude but I have! I’ve been on the look out for a red lipstick that doesn’t have pink undertones for soooooo long ( major emphasis on the fact is has been a long time) but this Nars Audacious lipstick in Rita fits my criteria perfectly! It is darker than a pillarbox red yet lighter than a really vampy red – I love it and a full review should be up on my blog soon because this amazing lipstick needs a post of its own to show off how much I love it.
Something totally out of my comfort zone is this frilly crop top from Zara. My personal style is totally not girly so for me this is like really odd/I’m totally in love with it. I’ve been styling it with just a pair of plain denim jeans from Topshop but HelloOctoberxo styled this top with a pair of mom jeans in a recent haul and it looks so nice. It is definitely a versatile top even though it is quite intricate and it’ll see me through spring into summer!
It may sound totally stupid but this bed cover from Ikea has totally been something that I’ve been loving lately. I mean – who doesn’t want to sleep in pretty bed covers? I’ve actually wanted this duvet cover for a while but they were always sold out – it was only when I went to the store a couple of weeks ago and saw it, it went straight into my bag! Needless to say my room looks a little more kitsch (because yes I still use that word).
So earlier this month I went to see Years and Years and they were totally incredible! They are most probably my favourite group out there and they are so good live!! So basically what I’m trying to say is check out their album (especially Gold and Ties although the whole album is pretty amazing)! MO was one of their support acts, I used to love her music so much and I’ve totally fallen back in love! I would definitely recommend Kamikaze as that’s been on repeat for the past few weeks – I’m still not sick of it so that’s definitely a good sign!
Monica Church has been a Youtuber that I’ve been really loving; she recently started a daily vlog channel and her videos are so good! They’re quite short so you won’t have to spend ages looking at a screen but she’s so interesting and you really get to know her as a person. The video I’ve included is probably my favourite vlog of hers – happy watching!
