transitional makeup – winter to spring

It’s finally spring (although it really doesn’t feel like it) and I always feel in a sort of ‘makeup block’ at this time of the year. I feel it’s too warm to wear dark, bold lip shades yet too cold to wear a pop of colour on the eye (although I have been partial to a little bit of blue eyeliner lately). So I got my thinking cap on and I’ve compiled together a look that I think is great for the spring season.

A taupey look is perfect for this time of year as it is quite girly and I think this look is just really pretty in general. The base is my holy grail Nars Sheer glow paired with the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer. This concealer is super amazing for the time of year as the weather (especially in England) can vary quite considerably and with slight specks of glitter it makes for a lovely dewy look – you’ll be glowing whatever the weather! Adding some definition, the Hoola bronzer is the perfect matte option; and you won’t look muddy at all. I’ve paired it with the Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in the shade Seductive Pink. Highlight is optional with this look as I think just the bronzer and blush look nice on their own – it’s quite a simple face look. For eyes I like to prep with the Nars base and I’m wearing the Naked 3 palette on the lid to complete the taupey look. I applied the shade ‘limit’ all over the lid and ‘nooner’ on the outer crease and I dragged it down slightly under the eye. You can’t really see the eye look in the final photo down below but it’s the first time I’ve included a photo of me in a blog post and I didn’t want to go all ‘hi-def’ and scare you all off! I finished the makeup look off with the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara.

For the lips I’ve included three similar lip options, MAC Twig (I’ve did a full review here), a Sephora lip cream in Marvelous Mauve and the Nars lip pencil in Dolce Vita (this is the one I’ve used in the photo down below, although I only dabbed it on lightly) and I love the final look – it is perfect for the spring I think (although I’m not a makeup artist so don’t count me on that).

I love this makeup look and I hope you do too! What makeup looks/trends have you been loving lately?

Love the look! Definitely could transition from winter to spring. I don't wear much makeup as it is, so I'm instantly drawn to looks with this color palette. xo
