things to do when you’re bored

There used to be endless days in summer where all I could think about was how bored I was. I probably (definitely) took it for granted as now I find myself always doing something and very rarely get ‘bored’. But that doesn’t mean I find myself with nothing to do sometimes and there are only so many times I can keep refreshing YouTube for a new video to pop up! It’s an age old problem but I’ve come up with a few solutions to stop the slump of boredom.

Read, clear out, paint a picture?
I used to paint so much, however I’m pretty sure I haven’t picked up a paintbrush in over 6 months (that’s a pretty long time for me) and it is definitely something a want to do more of in the future. It is so relaxing when you’re bored and want to do something productive or something that you’re proud of! Also reading and clearing out is a great thing to do when you’re bored, it is just so nice to sit back and get stuck into a good book or clear out a pile of clothes that has been amounting for too long.

Meet a friend?
This is probably the hardest one for me as I have no friends lol. I’m kidding (okay maybe not) and it is a good way to stop being bored. You don’t have to go out and spend money either if you’re trying to save, they could just come round and you could bake or just go on a walk somewhere cool.

Write a blog post
for those of you who have a blog, why not write a new blog post? Or if you’re bored but don’t have much time take to pinterest and try and find some inspiration for future blog posts (something I do regulary). Another thing I love to do when I’m bored is to find new blogs! Read some blogs and commenting on them is such a fun thing to do when you don’t have a lot of time but want to fill it.

Get out and get active
This is better when the weather gets warmer as you can go out on the tennis courts, play a bit of badminton, go on runs… all things I don’t do and probably still won’t do even when the weather brightens up! I joke but there is something to be said about keeping fit; if you’re bored and don’t know what to do then maybe put on your trainers and go for a run! Exercise doesn’t have to be a chore and if you have nothing else to do then getting active might be a great thing!

I’m currently on my Easter break so these ideas might help me as well, let me know if you do any of these and also comment down below your favourite song of the moment! I’m always on the lookout for new music to listen to πŸ™‚

Yessss I miss the days where I had time to be bored, I definitely took it for granted as well! This are all fab ideas though, I generally just used to binge watch TV shows if I had nothing to do that day – so productive I know!

I love reading I'm really trying to make a habit of fitting it in! I spend way too much time on Twitter/YouTube, it's nice to be able to put all of that down for a good hour or two!

Good ideas! I find boredom is more of an unwillingness to do all the things I actually have to do, than having nothing to do! Procrastination and what not, that's me!

Thank you! Maybe keeping fit is something you could do in the future? Nothing big but we all have to start somewhere πŸ™‚ even doing a five minute video on YouTube might be good if you're bored!
