the fashion files

Blue Prom DressesI thought I would start a series called ‘the fashion files’, a post every season to keep you updated on the latest trends or styles and how you can easily work them into your wardrobe. Good ol’ Farfetch are featuring in my post today – the gorgeous aesthetics of the website keep drawing me back in! There’s a low down on the upcoming S/S16 trends including my take on the trend and also photos from the most recent lfw for you to take inspiration from.

Blush pink
Above jacket: Gap – Top: Zara – Trousers: Topshop

Blush pink is definitely a trend I’ve seen a lot and as Gilda Ambrosio (Consultant and Stylist) says, her style resolution is to wear more colour and blush pink is definitely a trend where you easily wear colour without feeling like you’re wearing too much of it. A plain blush pink t-shirt can just add an accent of colour without being too overwhelming and I love it styled with a pair of cropped trousers.

Lingerie as outerwear

Whilst I don’t own any slip dresses for the new season (I’m not really a dressy person), I think this is a really nice trend and something that is totally new and original in the fashion world. To easily incoperate this trend into your S/S wardrobe, a simple slip dress over a basic t-shirt is the cutest thing. There are so many styles but I love just a simple black one as it is so sleek and just adds something different to a plain tshirt. Remember the time Selena Gomez went out in her pajamas? Well that’s totally a trend now, although I don’t think my pajamas are really street style worthy…

Top: Zara – Jeans: Topshop

Lately I have been all over ruffles and I think they are such a perfect trend for S/S – they’re the one ‘girly’ trend I actually love as my style is definitely quite androgynous. As Pandora Sykes (aka my fashion icon) pairs them with a pair of black skinny trousers I thought I would pair them with some denim skinny jeans to make it slightly more casual – it just shows you how versatile ruffles can be!

I thought I would end this post with some S/S16 street looks (from London Fashion week taken by Farfetch) , because I love these particular looks for the new season and I’ve obviously included a pair of Adidas shoes because you all know I’m totally obsessed with them!

Congratulations if you made it to the end of this post as I know it was a long one (I have to remember next time that not everyone loves fashion as much as I do)! I would love to know what your favourite piece from this post is – my personal favourite are the blush pink pieces! Let me know in the comments below!

Eleanor, I absolutely adore this post! What an incredible idea it is to start up a 'Fashion Files' series! All of the pieces you have featured are so pretty and I love how you're sharing all of the latest trends with all of your readers – it's great! My personal favourite is the ruffles. That top is TO DIE for! I don't think my pajamas are particularly style worthy either, so you aren't alone there 😉 I can't wait for your next post gorgeous!

    Lots of love,

    Jade | xx

I love using Navy staples in SPring as opposed to black – it's nice way to transition into the Summer so unsurprisingly I love those trousers and the blush top looks like a fantastic pairing, great choices.

So cute and girly for spring! Also .. If only it was acceptable to wear actual PJ's out?! One day ey hehe! I also adore that pink colour .. It is just the perfect shade..
Not too hot pink but not pastel .. It's stunning! Loving that shade for lipstick too!!

Thank you so much! The ruffles trend is so feminine and New Romantics but I really like it, my favourite has to be the pink though! xxx

Omg the way people use lingerie as outwear these days blows my mind. I don't think I'd dare step out of the house in an Agent Provocateur slip but people make them look amazing and know exactly how to style them!

Blush pink is one of my ultimate favorite colors – It's actually the color I wanted to paint my room as a little girl, complete with a canopy above my bed. Those were the good old days, I remember. xx
Thank you for sharing these wonderful trends with us, Eleanor. I'm a new reader and already in love with your blog and its atmosphere. You are incredible!
