Stop thinking, start doing

One thing I fail to do is making my ideas on paper a reality; I decided I’d try out a few ideas to increase my productivity and I am here to share with you my favourite concepts that work for me.

Establish a routine. To balance my blog, school life and also social life is hard and I could never do it without scheduling what I am going to do and when. Prioritizing what is important over what can be done later. On days when I have a lot of work that needs to be done, I write myself a little schedule or ‘timetable’ to stop myself taking too long on one task. I also give myself little breaks throughout the day because you have to give yourself a break at some point!

Set yourself a daily goal. This really doesn’t have to be a big thing, it could just be ‘exercise for 30 minutes’ but I feel that setting yourself small achievable goals make it more likely to achieve your overall goal. Break down your big goals into small ones and in the grand scheme of things you’re more likely to achieve your final goal!

Get up earlier. This may be hard for some people as they may not be morning people but I am so I actually love getting up early (within reason of course). One thing that might help is going to sleep earlier? I know it may be hard but I find I do my worst work in the evening as I’m super tired and just not in the right state of mind. Try going to bed an hour earlier and see how you feel when you wake up – it might not work for you but I always feel going to bed earlier really affects how awake I am in the morning and how productive I am – let my know if you do try it!

Yoga? I include the question mark because some people (including myself) may question how good yoga actually is at relaxing you or increasing your productivity. Well I’ve tried and tested it and I can report back that yoga is totally fab. I try to do around half an hour every couple of days and it just puts me in the best of moods – it also makes me super motivated to do school work or write a new blog post! I love the Yoga With Adrienne videos as she has such a great range; from beginners videos to a 30 days of Yoga series so you don’t have to be a pro at it (because trust me I’m not). I would thoroughly recommend them if you’re on the lookout for some relaxation that will make you feel fab to!

I hope these ideas might help you to achieve your goals and increasing your productivity. Do you have any motivation tips that you swear by?

I always wake up so much happier when I go to bed earlier, but I'm a morning person anyway so it doesn't really bother me 🙂 Xx

Yoga is something I've meant to try out for ages. I'm just more of a jogging and cycling kinda person and I love HIIT workouts. I can't get myself to do "calm" exercises like yoga haha.
Something that increases my productivity is definitely getting up early. If i get up late I get nothing done.

I've never tried a HIIT workout! Lots of people really agree with me about getting up early as well.

Great post! I love reading posts like these to just reiterate and re-inspire myself to get a move on. I like the title you chose for this post because that's exactly how I feel about things these days. Sometimes you have to ignore whether you feel motivated or not and just get on with it visualising your end goal.I love yoga. Adriene is great and so is Fightmaster Yoga. Lesley has a huge selection of beginner videos and more relaxing practices too. 🙂

I find that getting up earlier point so difficult! I have started to go to bed earlier and earlier these days, but constantly wake up through the night. I've started doing like a sleep section of my bullet journal which will let me track how it's going and why I struggle! xxx
