Thank you all for reading my blog this year, the first half of next year will be tricky to manage with revision so there may be spells of absences but after the June I am promising that my content will be better than ever. 2018 was truly an incredible year, a year of change for the better and for the worse. After reflection, we have to look forward because you can’t change what has already been done but you can change what is in front of you. But I’m determined to make 2019 the best year ever and I have a good feeling about it. To all the people that made it the best year, I thank you. You taught me a lot.

To the memories that I didn’t mention in this post (I forgot to mention that I passed my driving test! yep that was a big one), you can revisit some of the best in these posts:

I hope you liked this slightly different style post and if you can’t read my writing then let me know because I can re-write it online if not. What are your reflections on the year? I think it is okay to end the year in a different place to where you started, we all live and learn and change and grow and 2018 was that year.

lots of love and best wishes for the New Year, eleanor xx

I love the layout of this post Eleanor, journal extracts are always so personal. I still need to write in mine for 2018, I’ve been revising all day and the thought of writing in my journal is not that inviting, but it has to be done! I agree that there’s an expectation that each year gets better but in some ways, a year is so big and has so many ups and downs I find it hard to comprehend the whole 365 days as a binary good or bad–I find that kind of reassuring. 2018 was the best year of my life, but there were still some wholly rubbish bits, but I guess that’s just life and it happens whether you want it to or not. I’ve got good feelings for your 2019 and hoping the result you get on the 10th Jan (?) is the one thats right for you (regardless of what it is–i think it’ll be for a reason). Here’s to a fab 2019, and hopefully we can meet up!!!! (maybe in Ox, maybe elsewhere who knows!!) x

Katie you never fail to write such meaningful comments and I can actually say that this year was the best when I look at it from a distance. The time between interviews and the result is weird because I’ve actually got a lot better with thinking about what the result will be, because wherever I end up it’ll be the right one. I have good feelings about your 2019 as well and yes we need to meet up (wherever it may be!) x

I was so struck by the line ‘I think that’s okay. I hope that’s okay. I’ll make it okay.’ and I think it’s such a positive mentality to have – rather than dwelling on negativity and making yourself feel guilty about things its so much better to think in terms of ‘I’ll make it okay’. You’re still you even with your mistakes and as humans we’re always growing and this is what we should focus on.

The diary extracts was such a lovely touch and it really put a smile on my face reading it, it felt so heartfelt and genuine. I hope 2019 is good to you – wherever it takes you.
P.S I know I’m super late to the party but the fringe suits you so much – every time I see it on Instagram I think ‘that girl can really pull off a fringe!’

I loved the idea for this post, handwritten extracts feel so personal and sentimental – also you have such lovely handwriting! The motto ‘what will be will be’ is definitely something that stuck with me this year too and something I will also find reassuring going into 2019. You have had such an amazing year, I am super jealous of you travelling to both Paris and Stockholm, both bucket list cities for me! I hope 2019 is even better for you x

Oh god I already commented on this and then forgot to press publish, it was a super long comment as well…grrr. I loved the handwritten format of this post and has reminded me to start doing them again on my blog too. Also random point but I find it so cool that your handwriting slants to the left! You’ve mentioned 2018 ending on a slightly sourer note and although I don’t know the specifics of it all, I hope that you’re seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and that 2019 is already that little bit brighter for you. I can’t wait to see where the year takes you, especially the summer (relish it) I sense it’ll be a *huge* year for you with the run up A levels, the exams themselves, the subsequent summer and then university but I know you’ll make it out the end! Happy new year <3
