There are times when we can all feel a little down or disheartened and in desperate need of a ‘pick me up’; some find that in the form of retail therapy or just having a bath. I’ve compiled a couple of little mood lifters for today’s post and I hope they brighten up your day!
If you need a total break from everything, reading is so therapeutic. Even just a magazine is great to take your mind off things. I just finished reading ‘Me Before You’ by Jojo Moyes and OMG that book is just amazing. There are no words to describe how incredible it is and there is a definite possibility that it’ll be in my February favourites. I could get lost for hours in a book and it is just such a great way to escape.
Painting my nails is such a simple task but I find it’s a great way to just take time out of the day. I have a new found love of Essie polishes and the one that is on my nails right now is the shade ‘ eternal optimist‘ a gorgeous dusky, barely there, pink shade – perfect for all year round. Plus you get something out of it – beautiful nails! Painting my nails is probably my favourite way to kick back and relax.
Fifteen minutes for a face mask is perfect for a little break and as someone who’s not fond of baths I find it a great way of still pampering myself. I love the Mask of Magnamity from Lush as you really feel like it is making a difference to your skin. Just sitting back with a face mask and watching a YouTube video (or multiple YouTube videos) lifts my mood totally. There is something weirdly therapeutic in watching someone flawlessy blend eyeshadow.
