let’s talk about art: Isa Beniston

Isa Beniston is an artist I’ve recently fallen in love with and after writing my ode to Laura Callaghan I just had to make ‘let’s talk about art’ a regular feature on my blog. Are there any artists you love? Send a comment my way and I would love to discover some new artists/art.

Isa Beniston is an artist living, teaching and working in Los Angeles, California. She graduated from ULCA (University of California) with a BA in arts and arts education in 2014. Known for her playful illustrations and eclectic artwork she truly is a great artist. Her pieces display a depth of understanding and are layered with plenty of sass and understanding. The use of different mediums show just how much understanding Isa has of the materials she works with. Her first solo show puppies was on display earlier last month in Leiminspace, Los Angeles.

Her ‘sketchbook’ crop tops are a statement piece for any wardrobe and would definitely last a lifetime. An a-line muslin crop top hand painted with doodles, portraits and brush strokes it’s a surface designers heaven. They’re not the cheapest at $85 but the work that has gone into creating such wearable art makes it worth every penny.
I hope you love Isa Beniston as much as I do and be sure you check out her blog as well, Gentle Thrills (you won’t be disappointed).
