battle of the blushes

I am a self confessed blush lover, I’m almost tempted to say I love it more than highlighter (bold statement I know). It is only because there are just so many shades and I think out of any product blush can really change the complexion of your face in a natural way – I think bronzer and highlighter can sometimes just look way too unnatural, especially as we are approaching the summer you kind of want a natural glow. Whilst blusher cannot give the ‘glow’ I feel it gives another dimenson to your face – but which one is the best?

I’ve decided to put the top 5 blushes in my makeup collection, whether they’re my personal favourite or the most hyped to the test – I bring you the battle of the blushes!
Nars dual intensity blush in Frenzy is probably my favourite shade of blush out of all of them – technically it is a highlight and blush duo but I am reviewing this on the blush side alone. It is quite an unusual shade and I haven’t seen others quite like it! It’s downfall is the pigment isn’t great, I really have to swirl my brush around to get a good amount of colour but just because I love this duo so much I’m giving it 4/5.
Nars orgasm is such a hyped product but I have to say didn’t impress me as much as I thought or hoped it would. Despite the shade being quite unique and gorgeous you have to swirl your brush around quite a lot to get the desired pigment and you can’t really build it up! I would give it a 3/5.
Too faced is a brand I absolutely adore despite only trying a few things. The formula of their blushes is like no other blush I’ve tried before and the shades are amazing. This is the blush in ‘I will always love you‘ and you know what? I will always love this blush! Definitely giving this 5/5!

Lollitint is another hyped product that I didn’t love as much as I thought I would. Whilst I love the colour it is quite sticky and doesn’t seem to apply nicely on my skin. It could be the way I apply it but I think I just didn’t get along with this product *cries because it was £24.50*. I would rate this 2.5/5.

The Max factor creme puff blush is sadly the only drugstore blush in this post. I really wanted to test out a sleek blush for this post as I know it has great reviews so let me know in the comments below whether it is worth trying or not as I would love to know your opinion! I actually love the Max Factor blushes as they are multi tonal and really pigmented. They are so amazing for the price and the formula feels great and also lasts a long time as well. I give this one 4.5/5.

So the winner is… the Too faced blush! I loved writing this ‘battle of’ post and I hope you enjoyed reading! Have you tried any of the blushes from this post? I would love to know your favourite blush in the comments below!

Blusher never normally excites me im afraid to say, and half the time i don't even wear it! But with that being said your too faced one looks beautiful! Maybe I shall actually wear blush today lol. xx

I used to think that but recently I've been wearing blush everyday! xx

Great post. Recently I've been really into cheek products, and I love blushes. The only one of these that I have tried is Lollitint which I wasn't a huge fan of. My favourite blush is Dollymix from Mac, it's such a gorgeous colour.

I'm a self confessed NARS blush addict! I'd love to try the Too faced blushers, everyone seems to love them and they're so cute!. I haven't really got on with liquid blushers either, it's such a shame I must be doing something wrong!

I still don't own a Too Faced blush and it seems from your post that I really SHOULD! I love the Max Factor ones a lot and feel like they could easily be packaged in any of the higher-end brand's packaging and nobody would question it for a moment. Deffo check out Sleek blushes…they are super pigmented though…beware! 😉 xxx

Maybe it's just the formula? I would definitely recommend the top faced blushes – they're great!

  11. Eleanor Pritchard 22nd April 2016 at 2:33 pm

Totally, I shall take your recommendation and see what they're like! xxx

I just love the shades – I get so many complements on the highlight as well 🙂

I don't really use blushs beacause I have rosy cheeks so I'm afraid that I'll look like a clown if I use one. But if I have to choose one blush to test it, I'd like one of Benefit's collections! Great post.x

  22. Tamzin Swann 26th April 2016 at 9:31 pm

I really want to try the Too Faced blushes, mostly for the packaging and engraving alone! I like Nars Orgasm, but I agree it's not easy to get a colour pay off! I can never find a happy medium one as my Illamasqua one is the creamiest thing ever and makes me look like a clown haha! I've heard good things about the Max Factor ones though, need to try them still x

  24. Kerrie Dixon 30th April 2016 at 7:46 pm

I've seen quite a few people say that Nars Orgasm hasn't lived up to the hype! Can't wait to the too faced blushers, they look stunning! Xxx

  26. Kayleigh Furfie 7th May 2016 at 4:04 pm

I tried my first Too Faced product today and I was really impressed, so I'm tempted to get the blusher now! You're a bad influence hahah but in the best way!

Great post, loving the "Battle" type post 🙂

  27. Eleanor Pritchard 7th May 2016 at 5:39 pm

Haha thank you! I think I might do the 'battle' type post as a running theme on my blog!
