Sometimes, always putting chemicals on your skin can be doing more harm than good, with various cleansers, serums etc. on the market, you can easily get swayed to choosing a product that isn’t good for your skin.
When my skin isn’t feeling too great (I recently had a break out of ezchma on my face-yikes!) all the products I put on my face can seem quite bad. As a result I don’t want to be putting tons of chemicals on my skin, yet I still want to wear makeup, this is how I go back to basics with my skincare.
Started with removing eye makeup, I’ll stand by my simple eye makeup remover, there may be ones out there that don’t require as much effort, but I love this one and as long as it takes off my makeup without irritating my eyes it’s good enough for me. How I do it is by taking to cotton pads and soaking it in the makeup remover. I then gently press onto my eyes for around 30 seconds. Try not to rub as this can really irritate the eyes (I found out the hard way). It’s really finding the makeup remover that suits you, but simple makeup is one to look at if you’re just getting into makeup.
When it comes to removing the other makeup on my face, I try not to use a cleanser when I have bad skin. Not only does it take longer *lazy bones over here* but sometimes I feel that it’s making my skin dry, anyone else get this? Garnier micellar water is a makeup remover I love, and will stick by it for a long time (I need to repurchase a new one asap). Simply removing my makeup, I’m not putting tons of chemicals on my skin, amazing for when I don’t want to complicate my skincare routine.
At this point you can do toners etc. but I would probably just skip straight to moisturiser. I’m in love with the Garnier moisture match, I haven’t found a better moisturiser for dry skin – it’s so hydrating and leaves my skin feeling so soft! A couple of steps less in my routine and my skin will be back to tip top condition. If your skin isn’t great, maybe skip a step or change a product, it could make the world of good!
Are there any skincare products you’ve been loving on the market lately? Hope you all have a good start to the week!
